Las Vegas Guide

I’ve been to Las Vegas a number of times, and amazingly the trips have never been work related! It is definitely a love or hate place, and I have to say I love it! The weather (great sunshine), amazing choice of bars and restaurants, make it a great place to escape to!

The following are my list of places I’d recommend (and typically go back to!).

Hotels

  • MGM Grand massive hotel at the start of Las Vegas Boulevard, with a great choice of bars, restaurants and a lovely set of pools. My personal favourite hotel on the strip!

Bars

  • Tap Sports Bar in the MGM is a great sports bar. Nice selection of different beers, and a great selection of sports. Food is pretty good too.
  • Tilted Kilt fun bar.
  • Yard House good sport bars, great range of draft beer and the food is ok.
  • Eureka! American Craft Nice bar, great range of beers. Food isn’t too bad either. Located in Downtown.
  • Circa Hotel. New hotel open in Downtown. Can walk through the casino, has a nice couple of restaurants and a good bar. Lot more relaxed than the strip. Also has a massive sports TV wall (and I mean massive!).
  • Beerhause great sports bar opposite the ParkMGM - loads of TV’s, great range of local craft beers, good food and a nice outside seating area.
  • Aft nice outside cocktail lounge at the Wynn Hotel - perfect for watching the Lake of Dreams Show!
  • Container Park cool collection of relaxed bars (again good beers) in Downtown.
  • Rhumbar cool tropical bar in the Mirage. Nice cocktails and outdoor space.
  • Beer Park great outdoor space in the middle of the Strip by the Paris hotel. As you’d expect with the name - big range of draft beers!
  • Able Baker Brew nice local brewery on the downtown brewery mile. Great range of their own craft beers, and amazing tacos!
  • Nevada Brew Works just along from Able Baker Brew, another nice local brewery on the downtown brewery mile. Great bar food!

Things to do

  • Bellagio Fountain if you’ve never been to Vegas before, this is worth checking out one evening when passing.
  • Freemont Experience if you do go to Downtown Vegas, make sure you check out the Freemont Experience (it is certainly an experience!).
  • Life is Beautiful amazing music festival in Downtown Vegas every September. Once you go, you will never want to go to a UK music festival again!
  • Sundance Helicopters great helicopter tour out to the Grand Canyon and along the strip. Amazing experience!
  • Lake of Dreams at the Wynn amazing multimedia experience set to music on the Wynn’s lake. Recommend grabbing a cocktail at Aft to take in the show one night!
